Introduction
School of Electronics and Information Engineering
School of Electronics and Information Engineering was founded in 2003.The school has two first-level disciplines: Information and Communication Engineering((Ranked A-, top 5% by MOE in 2017, Ranked 148 in the world by USNEWS, tied with EE in U. Alberta)) and Electronic Science and Technology (top 10% by MOE in 2017). Major research fields include wireless communications, space communications, optical detection and measurement technology, network optimization, artificial intelligence, signal and information processing, chip design and security, and others. The school currently has 1158 students and 45 full-time faculties. Our faculty is comprised of various talented professionals, including academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, members under the “Recruitment Program of Global Experts”, members of the “National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”, members under the “Thousand Youth Talents Program”, and members under the “Middle-Aged and Young Innovation-Driven Leaders Project” by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The faculty undertakes government-funded projects, programs, or schemes, including “Project 973”, “Project 863”, “Major National Science and Technology Projects”, projects under the “National Natural Science Foundation of China” (including major research projects, key projects, general projects, and extinguished young scholar projects), major consultation projects under the Chinese Academy of Engineering, “PLA General Armament Department Project”, “Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Scheme”, and “Shenzhen Science and Technology Scheme”, as well as over one hundred institution-sponsored projects. In addition to obtaining over one hundred national invention patents, software copyrights, and other indigenous intellectual property rights, the school receives various awards for its research achievements, including first and second prizes granted by provincial and ministerial authorities. These achievements are widely applied to major national projects. Besides organizing multiple conferences at home and abroad, including IEEE/CIC ICCC 2015 and IEEE/OGC 2016, the school maintains close partnerships with more than twenty prominent universities, research facilities, and various multinational corporations from the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, Belgium, Switzerland, Hong Kong, and others. The school also undertakes large-scale scientific research projects, including research on aerospace information network theories and applications, fundamental theories and key technologies related to deep space communications, networking and resource allocation for fifth generation mobile communications, protocol design for the Internet of Vehicles, integration of near field communications and location, and others. Our “Deep Space Communications System Modules and Transmission Mechanism based on Multi-Hop Relay” and “Packets Interleaving CCSDS File Delivery Protocol” are accepted by the China Academy of Space Technology as an alternative technology for moon-based relay engineering. Meanwhile, our other technological achievements, including “feedback-free and velocity-free coding and decoding for deep space communications”, are considered as apriority for the technological development of spatial infrastructure during the 2035 Space Development Strategy initiated by the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
